Nebraska Tourism defines geopicting as an activity that combines photography with GPS coordinates. With this in mind, they have launched a Geopicting Photo Contest to see and share photography from Nebraska’s scenic byways and then, having the GPS coordinates, you can travel there yourself.
To enter the contest you need a hand-held GPS, a mode of transportation, and a camera. You can head off blindly or download a document with GPS coordinates of some of the places that the contest organizers have visited.
Submit your photo entry online of a picture taken along one of the state’s nine scenic byways. Throughout the year 4 winners will be selected. Check the photo contest website for information on prizes and rules.
